Welcome
to
Teikota
Alaskan
Malamutes
helloooo and welcome to the home
of teikota alsakan malamutes..
we are a small kennel in blackburn
lancashire, and currently live with our seven mals storm, koty, maya, skye, blade, layla
and icee
my husband mick and i have been
involved with the breed for five years, but started reserearching
the breed in 1997...we decided we would wait till the kids got a
bit older before taking the plunge...
both mick and i have worked for
many years in a rescue society helping to rehabilitate animals that
had come into rescue with many problems ...i had been working for
many years volunterry and on day release to college while doing
this taking a variety of courses to do with all aspects of animal
involvement....so needless to say i was always one of those folk
with wellys and usually covered in pet hair and dog slobberr!!!!
sometimes worce but we wont go into that on here!!!!!
after many years of looking into
the alaskan malamute breed we decided it was time to take the plunge
and approach a breeder...alreasdy we had a great knowledge (thanks
to the www) of worldwide malamutes which lead me down a particular
line of what we saw and really liked very much...(i spent mostly
hours looking at keikewabics dogs....well done to Maureen Anderson,i
love your dogs all over the world..for there great conformation, abilities
to be great working dogs and to boot the super super temprements
and soundness of health well done ..your dogs will always be my
all time favorites...
so in 2001 we got our first malamute
storm a really gorgous dark red girl we could'nt wait till the day
came when we went to pick her up......little did we know at that
point we would end up having 7 malamutes...but ya knowww once you
get one you always want more...!!!!!! its very catching!!!! i call
it malamutes desease..and i warn anyone, that are thinking of becoming
new owners of this breed..you'lll get it if your not carefull!!!!!!!
:+) within mabe a year we were already wanted more..i thought at
this stage we were at a really big learning curve in our lives from
ringcraft training to working in harness there was so much to learn
about....we knew we would end up learning lots about the showring..it
was all trips to dogshows and winning rosettes was the most exiting
thing i had ever done in my life...but so nerve racking...storm
qulified for crufts at her first ever championship show at blackpool
in 2002 with a second place win ....wayyyhaaayyyy we were totally
proud of our baby!!! wayyy to go storm!!!!!!our little yuffybum
we were soooo very proud of her...she continued that year to win
many a rosetee both at champ and open shows..the kids decided they
too wanted to get into showing...both sam and becky did some super
wins with storm that year..
in october of 2003 we had koty and
maya come to join our family oooh geee it was a busy time both of
them being yooungster togther but ive always belived if you have
to time to dedicate to bringing two pups up together along with
the work and training thats involved..it can be a wonderfull experience
and great for the dogs too seeing as how they grow up together as
puppies they will always be great buddies too...those two were inseprable
and we had sooo much fun with our gang ...
it was about just after we got storm
i started chatting to sue a very good friend from alberta in canada
on the emails...we could talk for england..and still do about our
dogs.!!!!! daily if we can get away with it..!!!!!.we actually could'nt
believe it when we realized our doggies were related ..soo my sister
and i went off to canada for a visit of a lifetime to sue's place.
..in barrhead alberta ..and what a super time ..and lots of dog
talk and chores to do..we had too..i got to meet the most wonderfull
looking male, i had ever set my eyes on (can ch snowventure knightinshiningarmr)
i.k.a dodger ..in fact all the dogs were superb, but i must admit
to falling big style for one of sue's kids (me little red mate)
wolfie...owww i wanted to sneek him in my suitcase and fetch him
home with me...such a cuddler and leaned on me for tummy and chest
tickles he is so much fun to be around!!!!... so sue and i we figured
one day, we will end up importing a malamute from each other ....(please
read skyes page) and skye arrived here in april 2005
by this time we had our first rig
and all the set up for working with our dogs and started to train
in harness...koty needed hardly any introduction to working what
-so ever ,ran alongside storm on the bike as a youngster he could'nt
wait to get his harness on...what a guy!!!! when the time came he
was ready and totally up for the job!!!
we only ever work our guys for the
fun and love it lots ..the more exited to get the faster they go...its
a total blast of fun!!
and at the end of august blade and
layla came to join us from the shepherdsway kennels ann told me
about a lovley litter she had had with rusty and rummy (ive always
loved the keikewabics dogs) and rusty will always be a favorite
of mine, both in looks and such a fab natured boy
blade and layla are gorgous and
they are both such stunners both in looks and in nature..thanks
ever so much TO Ann Allen who i have the greatest respect for, your
doggies are all superb and the wonderfull red dogs you have produced
too ...well done!!!!!
we hope you enjoy a good read on
here..have fun!!!!!! ...i am always happy to advise and support
anyone with there mal should they ever need any help whatsoever
